About Us
The J M Bakery, affectionately known locally as ‘The JM’, has been producing high quality craft bakery and confectionary goods in the picturesque Angus seaside town of Carnoustie for over 35 years. The J M Bakery is a proper traditional bakery, where everything is freshly hand crafted every day for our three retail shops, or specific orders for our many satisfied customers. At The JM we specialise in all things bakery, from the best morning rolls in Angus and Tayside, to our specialist designer wedding and celebration cakes – we guarantee you will never be disappointed with any of our products.
Having acquired the bakery in April 2008 from another family member, it is now owned and run by Mark and Sheila Robb who are looking to strengthen the business by growing on an established reputation for quality and service. With over 20 years experience each in the bakery business, Mark manages the operation and the Bakery on the High Street in Carnoustie, whilst with her sugarcraft and confectionary background, Sheila specialises in creating individually tailored Wedding and Celebration cakes at our shop on the High Street in Monifieth.
In December 2010, the J M Bakery opened a new shop at 182 High Street, Arbroath, giving us our third High Street location in Angus, strengthening the business yet further.
Our standard product range includes bread and rolls, patisserie products, meat products, filled rolls, biscuits, fresh cream products, all types of cakes and a party buffet range – although if we don’t already produce it, we are always willing to try something new for our customers.
At the J M Bakery, we are particularly proud of our new wedding cake range and being based in Carnoustie and Monifieth we are perfectly situated to deliver our quality wedding cakes throughout Dundee, Angus, Tayside and Fife.
Today at the J M Bakery however, we not only offer a retail bakery service to our customers, we also supply our goods wholesale to many local hotels and businesses who are looking for that something a bit more special.
We pride ourselves on providing wholesome food to our customers and source the best ingredients to achieve this. Our cake, biscuit and pastry products are made using non-hydrogenated vegetable fats, our meat products are produced using fresh local butcher meat and our fresh cream is sourced from the best local suppliers.
